Save money with military discounts to see more, and spread the wealth as you travel the East Coast. From Maine to Maryland, and over to West Virginia, we’ve gathered the best discounts in the Northeast and New England for your military family.

Editor’s note: We recommend contacting the destination or visiting their website to ensure you have the most up-to-date operating hours, rules, and regulations. 

Don’t forget to stop by your local base travel office and visit ITT, LTO, or MWR for local discount tickets. They often have tickets available for purchase and can provide a list of regional discounts.

Here are some of the best military discounts on the East Coast:

Connecticut 

The Connecticut River Museum offers discounted adult admission to service members and their immediate family members.

Military members are offered a 20% discount on Steam Train and Riverboard Excursions at the Essex Steam Train.

Complimentary admission is offered to those with a valid military ID to the Florence Griswold Museum which celebrates art, history, and nature.

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum offers 50% off their 45-minute guided tours of the historic home to Veterans and Active Duty when calling to book tours at (203) 838-9799.

Mystic Aquarium offers complimentary admission to all active-duty, retirees and veterans. Dependents of military are offered $10 off admission with the promo code on their page.

Seaquest Trumball offers a discount on adult admission to military.

The US Coast Guard Academy Museum displaying historical artifacts covering the history of the Coast Guard offers free admission for all.

Delaware 

Admission to see historic airplanes at the Air Mobility Command Museum is free for all.

Admission is free to active military and dependents to see the art at the Biggs Museum of American Art.

Attending a Blue Rocks baseball game? The Wilmington Blue Rocks offer discounted tickets to active duty, veterans, and government officials through GovX.

The Brandywine Zoo offers a discounted military admission for two adults in the same household and up to 4 other individuals under the age of 18.

The Delaware Art Museum offers 50% admission to military personnel with a valid military ID. Free admission is offered to all veterans and active military on Veteran’s Day.

Admission to explore the Delaware Aviation Museum is by donation only!

The Delaware History Museum, Jane and Littleon Mitchell Center for African American Heritage, Old Town Hall, and the Read House and Gardens offer discount adult admission to military.

Visit the Delaware State Parks with an annual pass, which offers military members who are permanent residents of Delaware 50% off an annual pass.

The Hagley Museum offers free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families daily. Military veterans and their families on Armed Forces Day, July 4th, and Veteran’s Day.

The Milford Museum celebrates all those who served in the military from the Revolutionary War onward and offers free admission for all.

Maine

The Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, a museum dedicated to the Civil war hero, offers military discounts when purchasing tickets at the museum.

Ski Sugarloaf mountain on military days for discounted lift tickets, discounted rentals, and lodging to members of the military.

The Wadsworth-Longfellow House offers free admission to veterans. 

Maryland

Skydive indoors with iFly Baltimore – packages offer a 20% discount off First Time Flyer packages to Active Duty and Veterans with verification on ID.me.

The Maryland Zoo offered discounted membership to active-duty Military when presenting military ID at the time of purchase. 

The National Aquarium in Baltimore offers discounted tickets at the ticket booth for active military and their adult dependents.

The Salisbury Zoo offers free admission and free parking.

Six Flags America in Washington DC/Baltimore offer discounted admission to the military at the ticket booth. Discounted tickets can often be picked up at on-base ticket offices.

The Walters Art Museum offers free admission to all.

Massachusetts

The 7 Seas Whale Watch in Gloucester offers a $5 discount off whale watching tours. 

The Boston Children’s Museum offers complimentary admission to active military personnel or dependents with valid IDs.

If you are riding the Boston Ferry, ask about the military discount to save $2 off adult admission.

The Boston Sports Museum offers free admission to active military and family members with military ID.

The Cape Ann Whale Watch offers military discounts on Whale Tours in the Boston and Gloucester area.

Explore Fenway Park on a public tour and save $3 if you are currently serving or have served in the military.

The Harvard Natural History MuseumPeabody Museum of Natural History, and Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology offer free admission to military and their families year-round.

The House of the Seven Gables offers free admission to military and veterans on Memorial and Veteran’s Day.

Tickets to enjoy shows at the Huntington Theatre are discounted $20 with the promo code on their website.

The Isabella Gardner Stewart Museum offers free admission for military families year-round with proper ID.

The Larz Auto Museum offers 50% off admission to military adults.

The Legoland Discovery Center in Boston offers $5 off the walk-up admission price to the military with a valid ID. 

The Mary Baker Eddy Library offers discounted admission with a military ID.

The Museum of Science in Boston offers complimentary admission to service members.

The Museum of Fine Arts offers complimentary general admission to active duty and veterans and their families and $5 tickets to special exhibitions.

The New England Aquarium offers a $10 discount on adult admission and a $5 discount on children’s admission to active-duty military personnel and their dependents.

The New England Zoos of Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo offers discounted memberships to military and typically offers discounted admission at the ticket booth.

Visit the Skywalk Observatory in Boston for free as they offer free admission to active military personnel and their dependents.

The USS Constitution Museum offers free admission on Veteran’s Day to veterans, and free admission to the ship always on a first-come, first-serve basis.

New Hampshire

Explore the John Paul Jones Historic House Museum for free as complimentary admission is offered to active military personnel and their families.

Visit the submarine USS Albacore during their open season and active-duty military are offered free admission and veterans are offered discounted admission. 

New Jersey 

Adventure Aquarium offers $4 off adult admission to active duty military and their families.

The Beachcomber Camping Resort in Cape May offers 20% off military discount accommodations in the spring and fall.

The Billmae Dog-Friendly Cottage in Cape May offers 10% off military discount of 2 nights or more stay.

Hitch a ride on the Cape May Lewes Ferry and save $2 off each way for active duty and veterans and their accompanying family members. Historically they have also offered free travel on Veteran’s Day.

Construction-themed theme park Diggerland USA offers discounted admission to veterans and military and up to three family members.

Through the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, a 20% discount off admission to the Cape May Lighthouse,WWII Lookout Tower, and most Trolley Tours.

The Cape May Stage offers discounted ticket prices to service members.

Tickets to mainstage events at the East Lynne Theater Company are discounted to active military, retirees, and veterans.

The Newark Museum of Art offers free admission to active-duty military and discounted admission to Veterans and their families.

Discounted admission is offered to all active-duty and retired military with ID at Storybook Land.

The Willow Creek Winery at Cape May offers a discount on tastings to military.

New York 

The 9/11 Memorial Museum is free to active and retired U.S. military with valid ID.

Explore the Bronx Zoo as a military family and active duty military and veterans are offered complimentary admission with a 50% discount off tickets for up to 3 guests.

Veterans and active-duty members of the military are offered 30% off presentations at Carnegie Hall except for galas and Weill Music Institute events.

The Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises offers a 50% military discount for active military and veterans and up to 3 family members on all regular sightseeing cruises.

The Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan offers discounted tickets to active duty, veterans, and NATO members. Those in uniform are admitted free of charge.

The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum offer free admission to U.S. military and veterans and a 20% discount on admission for spouses of active-duty service members.

Madame Tussauds New York offers $10 off for military tickets with valid ID. 

The Museum of Modern Art offers free admission to active-duty military and family members.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame offers free admission to active or retired military.

The New York Aquarium offers complimentary admission to active military and veterans and 50% off tickets for up to 3 guests.

The New York MTA offers 25% off one-way station military discount.

The New York Water Taxi offers a $10 military discount for active and non-active military service members on regular cruises.

Pennsylvania 

The Betsy Ross House offers $1 off an adult admission ticket.

Bushkill Falls in the Poconos offers free admission to hike to active duty and veterans on Military Mondays during the open season.

Enjoy the Crayola Experience in Easton, PA by exploring the history of Crayola and how crayons are made while saving $5 off general admission tickets to active duty military and their families. True Blue Heroes is offered 4 times a year on the weekends of July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, and Memorial Day when free admission is extended to the military.

The Eastern State Penitentiary offers $2 off admission (which is usually the cost of admission) to military.

Hershey Park has historically had military weekends once a year with discounted admission offered at the ticket booth and free parking. Check their website in the spring for updates.

Visit the expansive grounds of Longwood Gardens and active or retired U.S military and veterans and their spouses save $7 on adult admission.

The Mercer Museum offers year-round free admission for active-duty military personnel with up to five family members.

The Morris Arboretum at the University of Pennsylvania offers free admission to active military and up to five family members and $10 off advance tickets to veterans. Veterans are offered free admission on Veteran’s Day historically. 

Inquire at The Philadelphia Zoo ticket booth to save on tickets.

The Please Touch offers discounted admission of $2 off admission to active duty personnel and free admissions Memorial Day through Labor Day for up to a total of 6 tickets.

Sesame Place Philadelphia offers free single-day admission to U.S active duty military or Reservists and up to three dependents. Complimentary admission applies if within the same calendar year the Waves of Honor program has not been used at Sea World, Busch Gardens, or another Sesame Place.

Rhode Island

While living in Newport, explore the Newport Mansions with membership and active or retired military save $15 on individual, dual, or household memberships.

Active military members are offered $2 off admission each for up to 5 people at the Providence Children’s Museum.

The Rhode Island School of Design Museum offers free admission to active-duty U.S. military personnel and their families year-round.

The Roger Williams Park Zoo and Carousel Village have historically offered a 50% military discount on regular daytime Zoo admission for up to four people.

Vermont

The Okemo Mountain Report offers a Military Epic Pass to active duty, retirees, and their dependents. There is also a Military Epic Pass offered for Veterans and their dependents. 

Shelburne Museum offers free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families year-round. Historically, veterans and their families have been offered free admission on Veteran’s Day.

West Virginia

Adventures on the Gorge offer 10% off military discount for lodging and in-house adventure activities, with some exceptions.

The Clay Center offers free gallery admission and discounted prices on planetarium shows and giant-screen films.

Enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Snowshoe Mountain with special pricing for military on-season passes, discounts on lift tickets, and 10% off certain rooms in lodging. These discounts are offered to active duty, retirees, and dependents of both categories.

The Thomas Shepherd Inn offers military discounts to stay at this historic inn, which includes breakfast, and historically has offered free rooms to veterans on Veteran’s Day.

Throughout the Northeast

The Blue Star Museum program is a collaboration of the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families that offers free admission to active-duty military and their families to museums across the nation from Armed Forces Day to Labor Day. The program is re-evaluated annually, check their website to see the updated list. Explore museums like the Delaware Museum of Natural Historyride in a canal boat in Pennsylvania, or Strawberry Banke Museum for free.

The National Parks offers an amazing deal in the free annual pass for the entire family – the America the Beautiful Passwhich extends free day-use to National Parks.  Explore the First State National Historical Park in Delaware and Acadia National Park in Maine all for free! Any overnight accommodations will have fees per the posting at each park or location.
